MBE and Mission
Carole Spiers was awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the King’s Birthday Honours List for her services to stress management and mental health — a recognition of her lifelong mission to champion wellbeing in the workplace. 

Championing Mental Health and Wellbeing
Throughout her career, Carole has focused on addressing work-related stress by equipping leaders with the tools to communicate more effectively and empathetically. Her work centres on building emotional intelligence (EQ) in leadership, enabling managers to recognise early signs of stress and foster psychologically safe, supportive environments. 

Leadership, Speaking and Media
As CEO of CSG, an international stress management and wellbeing consultancy, Carole works closely with senior leadership teams to embed resilience into organisational culture, helping them lead confidently under pressure while supporting their people to thrive.  

She has delivered motivational keynote addresses at conferences across the UK, Europe, MENA, and Asia-Pacific, speaking on stress, resilience, and wellbeing.  

Carole is the author of Tolley’s Managing Stress in the Workplace (2002) and Show Stress Who’s Boss! (2007) and is a regular contributor to major media outlets including the BBC, ITV, LBC, and Sky. 

Advocacy and Professional Influence
As Chair of the International Stress Management AssociationUK (ISMAUK), Carole plays a leading role in promoting mental health and wellbeing. She founded National Stress Awareness Day in 1998, which later evolved into International Stress Awareness Week in 2018. In 2024, she launched the inaugural Stress Awards, recognising excellence in stress management and mental wellbeing. 

Carole is also a Fellow and past President of the London Chapter of the Professional Speaking Association — a role that continues to fuel her commitment to empowering audiences and promoting excellence in public speaking.
